PLEASE NOTE: The Fiscal Year 2008 numbers on the Transit Center Report are incorrect on all editions prior to June 2011. This is the result of a contract being awarded, but not paid due to a cancellation of the contract. This affects the numbers in 2008 only for the “Contribution to Kyrgyz Aeronavigation (KAN)”, “Subtotal Direct Expenditures” and “Total Economic Impact” sections. The amount of the cancelled contract was $350,000

The U.S. and Kyrgyz Partnership

The United States and Kyrgyz Republic are strategic partners in the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan. This partnership has grown and flourished since 1992 when we started diplomatic relations. Our Kyrgyz partners are vital to every part of our fourfold mission-air refueling, airlift, onward movement of forces and humanitarian assistance and developing partnerships for the long term. We take our relationship seriously and we look forward to our continuing friendships in the future.
